About these terms
These terms explain how enrolment on a Dance Teacher Training Academy (“DTTA”, “we”, “us”) course works, and the terms for using this website. Before you enrol, we’ll send you our Student Training Agreement, which sets out the full terms of your course. If anything on this page differs from your signed agreement, the agreement applies.
DTTA is run by [legal business name], [address]. To be confirmed
Applying and enrolling
- Our courses are for adults aged 18 and over with an existing dance background.
- After you apply, we’ll invite you to a short suitability call with Loraine or Lara.
- If the course is right for you, we’ll offer you a place. Your place is confirmed when you have signed the Student Training Agreement and paid your deposit.
- Places are limited, and we may not be able to offer a place to every applicant.
Fees and payment
- Course fees are shown on each course page. You can pay in full before the course starts, or pay a deposit followed by instalments on agreed dates.
- IDTA examination fees are not included in the course fee and are paid separately.
- Studio hire for your individual mock examination is not included in the course fee. To be confirmed
- By enrolling, you agree to pay the full course fee.
Late payments
Instalments must be paid on the agreed dates. If a payment is missed, you’ll have 7 days to pay. After that, your access to training may be suspended, and continued non-payment may lead to removal from the course. Any outstanding balance remains payable.
Your right to cancel (cooling-off period)
You have the right to cancel within 14 days of enrolling, without giving a reason. To cancel, email info@danceteachertraining.co.uk.
- If you cancel within 14 days and no training has started, we’ll refund everything you’ve paid, including your deposit, within 14 days.
- If you ask for your course to start within the 14 days, we’ll ask you to confirm this in writing. If you then cancel, we’ll refund what you’ve paid minus a proportionate amount for the training already delivered.
Cancelling after the cooling-off period
- After the 14-day cooling-off period, your deposit is non-refundable.
- Once the course has started, we don’t give refunds, except in exceptional circumstances at our discretion, where we may offer alternative arrangements such as a transfer to a later course.
If we change or cancel a course
Courses run subject to a minimum number of students. If we need to postpone or cancel a course, you can choose to transfer everything you’ve paid to the next course, or receive a full refund. To be confirmed
In exceptional circumstances we may need to change dates, venues or tutors. We’ll tell you as early as possible.
Attendance and recordings
- Full attendance at all live online sessions and practical days is expected. Please arrive on time and take part fully.
- If you can’t attend because of genuine, unforeseen circumstances, let us know as soon as possible.
- Access to session recordings may be provided at our discretion. Recordings are a back-up, not a replacement for attending. To be confirmed
- Repeated absence, lateness or lack of engagement may lead to removal from the course without a refund.
Assessments and examinations
- Your course includes an individual mock examination and preparation for your IDTA examination.
- If you don’t meet the required standard in your mock examination, or we don’t believe you’re ready, we won’t enter you for the official examination until you have acted on our feedback and completed further training. Additional tuition, or a further mock examination, may be charged separately.
- We work hard to prepare every student, but we can’t guarantee that you’ll pass your examination.
Conduct
We expect all students to behave respectfully and professionally, follow tutors’ instructions and help keep the learning environment positive. We may remove a student for disruptive behaviour, unprofessional conduct or conduct that could damage DTTA’s reputation. In these cases, no refund is given.
Presenting yourself as qualified
Until you have been awarded your IDTA qualification, you must not present yourself as an IDTA-qualified dance teacher. Doing so may lead to removal from the course. To be confirmed
Our course content
All course materials, choreography, teaching methods, resources and recordings belong to DTTA. You may use them for your own study, but you must not copy, share or distribute them to anyone who isn’t enrolled, or use them for commercial purposes.
Health and safety
- Dance training is physical. By enrolling, you confirm you are fit to take part, and you should tell us about any injury or condition that could affect your training.
- You’re responsible for your personal belongings at practical days.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.
Using this website
- We work to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but course details, dates and fees can change. Your Student Training Agreement confirms the details of your course.
- The content of this website, including text, images and logos, belongs to DTTA and may not be copied without our permission.
- We’re not responsible for the content of other websites we link to.
